Legitimation may be impugned (challenged) only when: (1) it was done through fraud; or (2) the children were not entitled to be legitimated (e.g., they were born while one parent was married to another person who was not the other parent). Only the parties directly harmed may file the challenge, within 5 years of learning of the legitimation.
