ELI5— what this means for you

You can choose to retire at 60. Your employer can compulsorily retire you at 65. Either way, you're entitled to retirement pay equal to at least 1 month's salary for every year of service (minimum ₱½ month per year under RA 7641). Check your company's retirement plan — it may be better.

Key point

Optional at 60, compulsory at 65. Retirement pay = at least ½ to 1 month salary × years served.
